The hits keep on coming like top 40 radio in mid-summer. The Oilers–already missing Taylor Hall, Ryan Smyth, Jesse Joensuu and Ryan Hamilton from the portside–will very likely be without David Perron for a time. His neck isn’t getting better and he’s headed for an MRI; this doesn’t sound like something that’s going to go away overnight, and further drives the mood downward.
Not to be left out, the blueline also has a problem–with only 6 defenders in camp Justin Schultz has come up with an injury (Adam’s rib) and the team has recalled Phil Larsen. He’s part of the return for Shawn Horcoff and may make his Oiler debut against Detroit tomorrow night.
Healthy Oilers have been instructed to “just sit there–don’t do one damn thing” until game time tomorrow.
