Tracers
My first year in St. Louis, we ran out of money. By January 1st, I was doing everything. I was the president, general manager, coach, and even PR director. We had to let 22 people go, including the PR director, because we had no money. I told our accountant there were three things we needed to make sure of:
- We had to keep paying the players because if we didn’t their contracts would be null and void.
- We had to pay our power bill because if they ever turned off the power we’ve got no ice and can’t play hockey.
- And we had to pay our insurance premiums on our assets, which were the players.
All of this while we were in first place in our division.
