This is Tom “Bomber” Edur, who played for the Colorado Rockies 76-78. He was an excellent young defender who put up solid numbers in 5 pro seasons (3 WHA, 2 NHL) before quiting to become a Jehovah’s Witness.
He played on bad hockey teams in the NHL, and I suspect bad hockey teams are somewhat prone to losing their players to the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Or Wal-Mart, or the Russian Super League.
Either way, the Rockies left Dodge City and became the almighty NJ Devils in a straight up trade with Eastern North America for the Quebec Nordiques (not really, but the memory blurs).
MacT apparently read the riot act after practice yesterday, ripping all players a new one and getting out enough frustration to lose his voice.
There’s only so many things a coach can do, and when your side has 6′s and 7′s and 9′s and the other side has jack’s and king’s, well then things like “bible study” and “new career information” become part of the team lexicon.
