The Hrabal Factor
Sounds like a Vonnegut novel
With a defense like:
Hrabel,
Chorney,
Wild,
Peckham,
Bissaillon,
Young
And Dubnyk in net…
Springfield will be talented, but green.
bendelson: Chorney isn’t signed yet but you’re right. With Rourke gone and I think TJ Kemp is RFA that would mean Bryan Young is the veteran of the group.
Although Springfield will probably sign a veteran AHL Dman or two and then it’s a matter of someone playing in the ECHL.
I think Peckham would be first callup on that list btw.
Word in the Sun story today is that Chorney and the Oil are now closing in a deal. Good to hear.
LT:
I think we need one AHL veteran D to pair with Peckham as a shut-down pairing. Having two veterans seems unnecessary, and would cut into the development time of our prospects.
Chorney-Young
Peckham-Vet
Wild-Hrabel
Bisallion
Chorney and Wild (Bisallion when he’s in) as first PP.
Make sense?
If guys like Chorney, and Hrabal are the players that we think they are, then they should be able to provide better hockey for the Falcons then any AHL veteran can.
At the very least the Oilers will be able to sperate the wheat from the chaff pretty quickly, and there won’t be any doubt that the prospects were given a fair shot.
