Who by Numbers

This is one of the great forgotten albums of days past, from what might be the best rock and roll band of all time (other contenders: The Band, Stones, Clash, Allmans, EW&F).

A fabulous new site has graced the Al Gore and if you’re a fan of the NHL draft then you simply must see it.

    Not the Kinks?

  3. Lowetide says:

Love the Kinks. My favorites are “Waterloo Sunset”, “Death of a Clown”, “Come Dancing”, “Superman”, “Lola”, “Love Me Till the Sun Shines.”

    Tired of Waiting

    Ray Davies is a god.

Don’t forget: “Set Me Free”, “Who’ll Be The Next In Line”, “Victoria”, “Picture Book”, “Got My Feet on the Ground”, “See My Friends”, “I’m Not Like Everybody Else”, “Sunny Afternoon”, “Dead End Street”, “Rats”…

Kinks are definitely overlooked too often.

    So could Hodgson be available?

Cause he sounds (and looks) like one heck of a player.

  7. Islandlife says:

Did Hodgson play for the Kinks or the Who?

  8. PDO says:

I’m good at bringing up random questions when Dad is reminiscing about crap I don’t care about too ;)

  9. Islandlife says:

    Why, yes you are.

Good find LT, although I wish they’d give us a combined ranking rather than dividing it between NA and Europe.

But for my money I’ll take out the Guess and just listen to the Who.

Maybe the Oilers draft with karma and choose Anton Gustafsson?

No mention of the Beatles? Shameful. You won’t find bigger Band and Allman boosters than me, but the absence of the Fab Four is like not mentioning Gretzky on a “best hockey player” list.

  13. Lowetide says:

I’ve never really considered the Beatles a rock and roll band. “There’s a Place” was my favorite song when I was about 6 though.

    Piles on!

“8 Days a Week” was my wedding song.

I don’t know, I always liked Apeman best from the Kinks, but then again I’m a young’n’.

Great song. That wsa Entwistle’s on tha album, right? Also “Dreaming from the Waist”, “In a Hand or Face” and my personal favorite “They are all in Love” which contains this line. Didn’t make sense to me in 1975 like it does now:

    Hey, goodbye all you punks
    Stay young and stay high
    Hand me my checkbook
And I’ll crawl off to die
