Edmonton Sun-The Skinny: He’s a pretty fiesty player, as many Finns are, who doesn’t back away from a good puck battle and has the strength to do well in them. Doesn’t dazzle you with his speed, but he’s a consistent player, hard to knock off the puck, with good leadership skills.
QUOTE: “He comes to play. He competes. He’s got pretty good hands but his skating has to improve a bit. He’s like a poor man’s Thomas Holstrom in that he competes all over the ice.”
– Kevin Prendergast
Edmonton Journal-Just turned 18, but is expected to make the jump to the Finnish Elite League next year. Was with KalPa’s junior squad, netting 10 goals in 37 games. He also had 24 penalty minutes and seven assists.
“He competes, works hard, he has pretty good hands,” said Prendergast.
“His skating needs to improve a little bit but he’s six-foot-two, 200 pounds and he uses his size. He should be on the Finnish junior team at the world championship. I really liked him when I saw him this year. He’s almost a poor man’s (Tomas) Holmstrom. He competes all over the ice.”
