Kytnar Moves Up the Depth Chart
This is Milan Kytnar. He was a 2007 draft by the Oilers and spent last season in the WHL. In the “Every Prospects in the System” post in the spring I wrote “ISS liked this player quite a bit: Reliable two-way center plays hard every shift. Great hand-eye, anticipates well, coachable. Strong skater with a minus first step, good hands and size. Accurate passer, can shadow his man. Good playmaker who sees the ice well. He played for the Kelowna Rockets of the WHL this season, scoring 62gp, 9-13-22 which in junior are not terrific results even for the checkers. It doesn’t look like there’s much here to get excited about at this time.”
Turns out maybe there is something to get excited about at this time.
For no concrete reason that I can point to Kytnar has been my choice to be Brodziak + in 3 or 4 years.
Nice to see he is going to get a bigger role in Saskatoon and I bet he flourishes.
And why would a team need 2 Brodziaks, a Pisani, a Stortini, a Potulny et al?
They’re plentiful and cheap.

Vancouver missed the playoffs because they didn’t have enough Brodziaks and Pisani’s.
