The Edmonton Oilers have signed rfa Liam Reddox to a one-year, two-way deal.

if it's a two way deal, then good job by tambellini. Resddox is a solid 4th liner, and was a real good AHl player. he helps the AHl team, and can be called up and add some all around play.

I'm glad that the news was the Reddox signing, rather than a Heatley trade.
Nice work. He's useful in multiple roles – and should be able to handle the tough minutes in the A on a team full of guys that need cover.
Will he team with Minard on the first line?

I'm surprised (pleased) that Reddox was signed. For all the minutes he got last year, it would have been a terrible waste if if just walked away.
The kid DOES have a role, even if it's 4th line.

This is okay, as long as he only plays on the 4th line. I don't want to see him anywhere near Hemsky and his line!
Reddox will be a good 4th liner and on a two way contract it makes sense. I also understand why the Oilers had let him walk when he wanted a one way deal.
Nice to see the Liam has finally said, "maybe I'm just not that good yet."

That's the logical option. Along with Ryan Potulny on the other side, that's the makings of a dominant line in the AHL.
You then string together Schremp, Stone and Linglet and hope they kill the soft minutes.
AHL roster's looking more promising than I could have hoped for this offseason.

DG, doesn't Schremp have to clear waivers before he can head back to Springfield?
I can see a much better year from the Falcons, I'd be surprised if they missed the postseason again.
And it looks like they'll do it without Schremp, haha.
(We may not win the shoot out competition at the ahl allstar game though.)

In that case, Trukhno slides to his spot and we don't miss a beat.

Would there be no spot available on the Oil roster for Reddox? I think he is a very usefull guy. Good speed and a good sense of whats going on out there. Third line doesnt seem out of the question? The guy is only going to get better as long as he stays off the trolley tracks.
I thought of him as a kind of future-Pisani. But it took Pis a few years to become what he is now. I don't think Reddox will take Jacques or Stortini's spot this year.
DanMan: Reddox and Zorg are not in competition for the same fourth line job (maybe JFJ and Reddox, but it is Zorg or SMac on the Right side).
Good depth signings . . . Reddox will play between 40-50 games in Oiler Silks next year, and most of the time it will be on 4th line (and a few shifts on PK, if Quinn can remember his name).
Perhaps Reddox is a player that can fill the shoes of a pisani in another year or two?!.. a decent project to keep developing.. still a young man, obviously, so perhaps last year will give him the extra confidence to maintain his upward momentum and excel in the AHL ranks…
I wasnt a fan, for the most part, last year but I like the fact that he has been retained.. this player type isnt exactly a position of strength or depth for the org (w marra being a bust and Mcdonald not showing enough offensive output as of yet…)

I'm not going through the registration rigamarole on your site, so I am going to answer here:
That graph looks like Central Bank interest rate vs. GDP over the past 30 years.
Funny, because the blue line essentially doubles in value over 30 years, giving an annual change of approx. 2.4%, which is what calculated GDP must be in order for real GDP to be essentially flat. That is, Bernanke has admitted that 2.4% growth in GDP needs to be seen to keep the economy essentially flat (see Mish Shedlock's blog post yesterday for source). In other words there has been no real growth over 30 years, just the steady unstoppable theft of inflation, along with widely fluctuating interest rates.

Reddox and his small contract would be ideal for a job if there were a bunch of players on this team. As it is, they can't protect yet another player, so to the A he goes.
