Each summer failing NHL teams attempt to sell fans on the following year with new faces and new hope. The Oilers have some of that (Quinn, Renney, Khabibulin) but the team has been inactive for some time now and unless we’ve been misled there’s still work to do.
Among the possible reasons:
- No one wants our stuff.
- The Oilers are going to rely heavily on “in-house” solutions.
- They really are waiting on Heatley because he’s exactly what the coach wants.
- There’s another deal out there.
- They’re going to sign Jagr.
- They’re not that bright.
