Falcons sign Brennan
The Springfield Falcons signed Kip Brennan today. He’s a load (6.04, 222) and as you would guess his role is as an enforcer. Brennan’s problems as a player (skating, speed) are duplicated in the organization (MacIntyre, for one) but I wouldn’t count him out as an NHL option this winter. Brennan has played 61 NHL games (1-1-2, 222pims) and certainly covers the “fighter insurance” Edmonton might need if injuries become a factor at the position.
He began last season in Helsinki (SM-LIIGA), then came back to the AHL (Hershey) and spent some time in the ECHL too. He has played over 250 AHL games and been a teammate of people like Dean Arsene along the way.
