MPS update
Edmonton Oilers top prospect Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson is playing in the SEL again this season and off to a good start.
In 3 SEL games, MPS is 1-1-2 +2 and playing about 15 minutes a night. A year ago, he played only 11 minutes a night in the Swedish Elite League and scored 7-10-17 in 50 games.
Svensson ranks 7th among forwards in ATOI so far this season, so it’s a good bet Timra is using him in a secondary role at this time. The 6.01, 200 pound left wing scored a terrific goal scorer’s goal in a league game earlier this week.

Found a video of his goal:

(sorry not sure on how to put the link in correctly)
LT: Are there any chances that MPS could play as an Oiler this year?
bookie, looks like we were thinking the same thing. nice goal too.
Deleted my link as it was much slower to load.
No chance he plays for the Oilers this year. I don't think there is any need to rush this guy.
Hey, with Jacques on the top unit and Gagner manning the Dreg Squad….On this team, anything can happen.
That was one hell of a release.
Goalie wasn't even set; looked like he thought MPS was going to drive to the net. Great release, great shot, great instincts…
Anything over 30 points and I assume we can get really excited?
LT, did you omit the rest of the title? "MPS update: The light at the End of the Tunnel.."
PDO: Yeah, 30 points would be an excellent season and 25 would probably be average improvement (based on him playing 50 games) at a guess.
He has nice size too, no? Drove down the ice like a guy who'll be tough to handle when he's a man.
Beauty.
Hockey Noob: I'm actually just prepping everyone for the doomsday post later tonight.
LT:
Already 6'1" (or 6'2", depending where you look) and 200 lbs.
That speed is deadly, and the release is quick.
I don't think it's in his game, but if he can be a bit of an asshole too at 6'2" and 200 lbs, he's going to send more than a few D onto the IR….
The nice thing about MPS is that even if he doesn't end up a high-end offensive guy, he has alot of tools to still contribute…. which is more than you can say for the Schremp, Nilsson and Eberle's of the world.
Boondock: Don't think they were drafted for anything else than theyr offensive abilities.
This one is pretty nifty too.
So, what are the chances they let MPS rot in the AHL when he comes over from Sweden because he can't play defense?
MPS with another goal and assist today. I believe he is now:
4GP 2G 2A +3
Decent start to the season for him which is good to see.
