Looking Forward
Reports today have Mike Comrie close to NHL ready. If he can bring more of what he delivered earlier in the season, the Oilers organization is going to have to seriously consider making him an offer for 10-11.
If you believe Bob Stauffer and his “Czech source” on another issue (and I do) then the name Jaromir Jagr is also in the mix for this organization. Add Tom Renney’s comments to the script and we might have the beginnings of a 10-11 forward group for the Edmonton Oilers.
If they spend the deadline and the summer offloading the contracts of Moreau, Pisani and Nilsson, and then bring back Comrie, Jagr and a Pisani-type, does that get them into the playoff conversation?
- Gagner-Jagr-Hemsky
- Comrie-Penner-Eberle/Hall/Brule
- Horcoff-O’Sullivan-Pisanitype
- Pouliot-Stone-Stortini
Can this team make the playoffs?
