McKenzie’s 30

This is Phil Russell. He was drafted in the first round in 1972 (13th overall) by the Chicago Blackhawks from the Edmonton Oil Kings. The Oil Kings have another defenseman who might go in that range during the summer’s NHL Entry Draft. Mark Pysyk is ranked 12th on Bob McKenzie’s mid-season top 30. McKenzie has become somewhat legendary for his top 30′s every summer–they’re close to spot on–and this is the halfway point.

McKenzie tells us that Hall is still #1 but Seguin is pushing hard and that Fowler has competition for the #3 spot. It’s a worthwhile read for any hockey fan; for Edmonton Oilers fans it’s the best way to forget about a season that is quickly becoming the worst in franchise history.
