Oilers at Kings, G60, 09-10

This is Juha Widing. He was the Kings’ leading scorer for three years in a row, early 1970′s. Every once in awhile LA would be on television and Widing was their best offensive player for a few years there (pre-Dionne).

There are teams I never want to see win the Stanley, but if the Kings win it in the next 10 seasons it’ll be fine with me. It would be nice if they waited until Chicagoland won it, though.

I’ve been thinking lately about the players Edmonton wants to deal, and then about the ones other teams might be interested in adding for the long run to the Stanley.

The lists are not similar. The Tambellini wants to shed Ethan and Sheldon and Steve and Fernando. The NHL general managers are (from what we’re told) calling about Denis and Tom and Dustin and Lubomir.

Is this going to be a quiet deadline? I don’t think it will be. Despite this horrible, horrible season there are things of value on this roster. They may not be able to deal Moreau but could get decent return from one or two of the blue, from a player like Pisani or Comrie, and possibly Patrick O’Sullivan. If someone came calling for Gilbert Brule and were willing to pay in full? You never know, especially if they’re willing to take Moreau too.

We might even see something in the next couple of days.
