This is Michel Riesen. An Oiler first rounder in the late 1990′s, Riesen was traded to St. Louis in the Doug Weight transaction. He never made it in the show, but scored 171 goals in Davos (Swiss) over the decade and led the entire league in scoring one year.
Riesen is 8th on the all-time list of NHL games-played for Swiss-born males. Leading the way is Mark Hardy, whose mother was a member of the 1952 Olympic figure skating team from England.
Switzerland is a little like Canada in that they have more than one official language. In the case of the Swiss, there are 4 (French, German, Italian, Romanish) with German (60%) being the most prevalent.
Jonas Hiller is the best Swiss player, but they also boast Mark Streit, Luca Sbisa, Yannick Weber and Roman Wick. They’re hopelessly outmanned in this game but they have a tremendous amount of try and have earned respect over recent years with some notable upsets.
