Olivier Roy Impresses
Olivier Roy was named the QMJHL’s First Star of the week on the strength of 2 stellar outings. His record (2-0), GAA (0.96) and save percentage (.968) are all impressive.
Roy began this season slowly, but now ranks 3rd overall in league SP. That’s an outstanding number, although in a small sample size.
Roy is a possible option for Canada at #1G for the upcoming World Junior Championships. The idea is to develop a starting NHL goaltender, something the Oilers have been unable to do for almost 30 years. Here’s the list of drafted goalies and their NHL games played:
