Brave & Strome

This is Ryan Strome. The skilled C-R is ranked in the top 10 for 2011′s entry draft by both Redline Report and International Scouting Services. Both sources have him at #7 for February. The question is: should he be ranked higher? Is he among the very best  players available in this year’s draft. Math thinks Strome is very, very good.

  1. Ryan Strome 12-29-41
  2. Sean Couturier 15-25-40
  3. Jonathan Huberdeau 15-21-36
  4. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins 8-28-36
  5. Gabriel Landeskog 17-16-33
  6. Alexander Khokhlachev 15-15-30
  7. Joel Armia 18-8-26
  8. Nicklas Jensen 13-13-26
  9. Mark McNeill 10-15-25
  10. Brandon Saad 12-11-23

Here’s Woodlief talking about Strome:

  • “He’s a guy who’s got just great puck skills; he dangles with the puck and has got great speed. Really, he doesn’t need any time or space to get his shot away. He has a knack for getting to open ice.”
The source is Kirk Luedeke at Bruins Draft Watch, article is here. The top 4 in this draft on pretty much all of the lists are Larsson, RNH, Landeskog and Couturier. Does Strome belong in the conversation?
