Oilers sign House
The Edmonton Oilers have signed NCAA center Tanner House to a deal. He’s regarded as a 2-way center with skill and was Maine’s captain.
House is an Alberta boy, and has played in both the AJHL and BCJHL. He went 35gp, 10-25-35 with 56pims this season for Maine. He scored 4 PP goals and a shorthanded tally, and took 102 shots. He’s 6,02, 200. He turns 25 this spring, so is long in the tooth for a prospect and should be considered a candidate for the Oilers/Barons at training camp.
I guess the Oilers did have scouts in Maine; however, they may not have been watching former draft pick Robby Dee. This is the second NCAA grad to sign with the Oilers. The club signed Taylor Fedun a couple of weeks ago.
