Oilers sign Keller: Now at 50 Man Limit

Edmonton Oilers signed AHL sniper Ryan Keller this afternoon. Ryan Rishaug has contract details and it resembles the “big AHL” deals given to Brad Moran and Alex Giroux a year ago.

The deal is also interesting in that the Edmonton Oilers are now (by my count) at the 50-man limit. Meaning if they want to sign Ryan Martindale or Brandon Davidson, or if they want to add another goaler, they will have to move contracts.

Johan Motin might be a candidate ala Josef Hrabal awhile back, and of course there’s a lot of us who believe a center will be heading out of town in exchange for a goalie or defender.
