Teemu Hartikainen is getting the “push” from coach Renney and the Edmonton Oilers. Don’t get me wrong, he’s earned it and Hartikainen is clearly quicker than he was a year ago. Signs he’s getting the push? Well, they’re trying him on RW and he’s playing back to back games.
Oiler fans will remember the fall of 2007 when Kyle Brodziak arrived in a supreme state of readiness and put the boots to first rounders Marc Pouliot and Rob Schremp.
Hartikainen played last night and he’s in the lineup tonight. There are three possible reasons: they really like him and want a long look; they are showcasing him for trade; another winger who was slated to play is unable to so they gave Hartikainen the extra work.
My guess is that #1 is the answer. I think Teemu Hartikainen is on the verge of doing what Kyle Brodziak did in 2007 fall.

Peckham is playing a lot, might mean they’re pissed about conditioning or that he’s fallen back a little. Potter gets a push and that’s not a surprise, I’d say this is a nice night for VV and Hamilton before the cuts this week. Petrell remains a player of interest.
