The NHL Oilers sent down a massive part of their future yesterday, and if all that talent actually plays in Oklahoma it’ll be a bargain season ticket for the ages.
The Barons roster may consist of three different elements:
- Barons’ signed AHL veterans–Josh Green, Dan Ringwald, Teigan Zahn.
- “veteran players”–Yann Danis, Alex Plante, Dane Byers, Tanner House.
- the rest.
It’s “the rest” that we should be focused on, because coach Todd Nelson and his staff are going to have some tough decisions. Some pretty high draft picks could be headed for Stockton.
CURRENT ESTIMATED DEPTH CHART
It looks to me as though the Barons might want to add a veteran puck mover (LH); they might move Plante over to left side but that still doesn’t give them an established AHL 2-way defender.
Up front, the 1line will be insane for this level no matter who they play on LW. I kind of like the idea of an ‘AHL vet’ 2line as represented above by Green-Byers-Arcobello and Pitlick with the two Swedes would make sense.
I don’t see how Curtis Hamilton makes this team. House can hang around as an extra forward, but Hamilton? No way.
