TOP 20 PREVIEW
There are 20 names on the winter list, and they range in quality from the “#1 overall pick” to “what college, where?” There are three new names on the list, last summer’s list is here.
There may not be a lot of new names, but there is much movement. And injury. Lots and lots of injury. The breakdown is as follows:
- 8 forwards
- 10 defensemen
- 2 goaltenders
It all gets underway tomorrow morning.
Mysterious. Looking forward to it.
Sure beats the Flames top-20 list. They just misspell Baertschi six times and hope nobody catches on.

I just came back from Leonard Cohen at Rexall (seriously – the guy didn’t leave the stage until quarter to midnight). It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a performance that good at Rexall. Just throwing that out there.
Cohen is an amazing performer, and a better writer.
He wrote some excellent poems in the 60s and 70s. I don’t like his two novels as much, but they’re not as famous as his songs and poems, which seems about right.

I was there too; couldn’t believe how long he played. Might have been the second longest set I’ve ever seen (Saw The Cure this spring and they played about 4).
