PS G4: OILERS V CANUCKS

The Edmonton Oilers play in Vancouver tonight, the roster looks good enough to contend against Vancouver this evening. It’s also on the television, so squinting will be at a minumum.

LINEUP

  • Hall-Smyth-Eberle
  • Gordon-Perron-Hemsky
  • Arcobello-Joensuu-Pitlick
  • Acton-Eager-Brown
  • Ference-Schultz
  • Nurse-N Schultz
  • Marincin-Fedun
  • Dubynk-Rimmer

I like the top line, this is giving us some insight (possibly) into the “pairs” idea, using Hall-Eberle, Nuge-Perron and Gagner-Yakupov as three scoring lines. It’s also fun to see if Boyd Gordon can run free with the thoroughbreds, and three guys looking for work get another look tonight. If Tyler Pitlick ever needed a big game–like a goal and an assist and a good defensive play–tonight’s the night. Will Acton is either ahead or behind Lander but that job is available and it’s a big night for him too.

Ference makes his Oiler debut with Schultz the younger, might as well get them comfortable now. Nurse gets another game, it’s pretty clear to me they really like him–I don’t know that they’ll keep him for 9 games but next fall he might make the club. Marincin and Fedun are both playing well enough to warrant consideration, a quality showing tonight and they may be in the opening night conversation if others continue to falter.

Dubnyk starts.

SAY GOODBYE

slap shot gif

The Oilers are pretty aggressive on the cuts, they’ve been getting down to a reasonable number smartly. Sent out today were:

  • Cameron Abney: He got as deep into camp as we’ve seen him, I’m not at all sure what it means. “Steve Smith” has become the resident expert on Abney, I’m hopeful he’ll leave his thoughts in the comments section.
  • Mitchell Moroz: Big guy scored a goal last night, I was happy to see him do it. Here’s hoping he pops 30 in the WHL this season and shows well enough to earn a pro contract.
  • Kale Kessy: I honestly don’t have a thing to say about him, beyond I miss Tobias Rieder.
  • Brandon Davidson: Did more to help his cause in the organization than any of the kids sent out today (or in previous days). I can see him getting a cup of coffee this season in the NHL–he played that well! adamsgif

where is the “warm up hurdle girl”? Excited to see how the 3 lines work against some decent competition. Really cheering for Pitlick, hope he shows well tonight

“Kale Kessy: I honestly don’t have a thing to say about him, beyond I miss Tobias Rieder.”

You can say that again. I still don’t think MacT makes that trade. It’s got Tambo fingerprints all over it.

I’m not saying either make the show, but man… cheering for Rieder had its charm. I’ve yet to find the charm to Kessy. Looks like another big fellow nabbed off a hot scoring streak that is unlikely to be repeated.

It may be a product of the lack of interest, but I can’t find any news on Rieder’s camp in PHX other than he appears to still be there.

  3. OilClog says:

I’m interested to see who the better winger is between Eager and Brown, they’re battling each other for that spot, maybe they become a tandem with a rotating 4th C..

  4. Romulus Apotheosis says:

    “three scoring lines”

    hahahahahahahahahahahaha………. (sob…) anyone have a kleenex?

    ———–
““Steve Smith” has become the resident expert on Abney”

I’m thinking MacT suffered a mild “Steve Smith” over the weekend fixing up the porch. That accounts for the Abney stay of execution. He’s just exited the fog.

  5. wheatnoil says:

That’s two games in a row with Hall and Smyth on the same line. I wonder if Hall / Smyth isn’t the duo here, at least while Hall is at centre. Having a veteran guy who has the experience of playing out-of-position at centre and can cover for Hall isn’t the worst idea in the world.

    Eakins could be looking at:
    Hall-Smyth-Eberle
    Gagner-Joensuu-Yakupov
    Gordon-Perron-Hemsky

  6. Numenius says:

LT, is it Fedun playing or is it Hunt? There’s a discrepancy on the Oilers’ website. The D list says Hunt, the lines list says Fedun.

5-2 Canucks. Doug McLean says Oilers not ready to compete for playoff spot yet.

  8. BlacqueJacque says:

I think I’m going crazy. I’ve watched more pre-season, more camp than ever before in my life (and this includes 2010 and my OMG TAYLOR HALL SQUEEEEEEE phase – I swear that’s the closest I’ve ever been to being 13 year old girl), and I know the names of the most obscure, unlikely prospects like Hunt (shouldn’t be in the lineup tonight – expect bad things from him), Bilcke, Rimmer, Abney (admittedly I saw-him-good at camp), Petryk and Blatzer… that I actually care about these meaningless games. Even though the odds of any of the above making the team at any point – combined – have to be less than 5%.

  9. Lowetide says:

Blacque Jacques: Yes. Since 1973. :-)

    Today’s "Steve Smith"-related grammatical tips:

Hiding your car keys is "Steve Smith"’s way of letting you know your head is pounding.

Losing your car keys is a "Steve Smith"’s way of letting you know your head was pounded.

Then there’s the original Steve Smith sans the scissorsides, which concerns your head exploding due to a small brain fart.

Player: Hell no, I’m not hurt. Just a little ‘Steve Smith’ and some double vision.

Trainer: Why is it when you say that with your fingers taped, you’re always so convincing? Nevermind. You seem fine to me.

    *sob*

  21. LMHF#1 says:

    RexLibris:
I liked Marincin’s patience on that powerplay.

    As did I.

Also, someone get Joensuu a forward # already. That 6 looks like a big defenseman WAY out of position.

  22. Lowetide says:

GREAT start, lots of jump, goal for Ebs and 9-0 on the shot clock. PLUS Nurse goes all jailbreak to the net!! Love it!

  23. BlacqueJacque says:

You guys know that movie, Any Given Sunday, where douchebag Jamie Foxx plays a douchebag quarterback who claims to have “invisible juice” that he can turn on?

Eberle actually has that. One moment he’s on the left side, the next I see someone sneak the puck in around luongo and have to wait for the announcers to tell me who it is.

  24. ancientcanuck says:

It is killing me that I can’t watch this game! We are in Florida, does anyone have a link? GO OIL!!

  25. BlacqueJacque says:

Also, Marincin looks like more of an NHL defender than any left-shooting prospect we have.

  26. RexLibris says:

Who was the blueliner who sprung that drive?

  27. BlacqueJacque says:

WOOO marincin scores! Or maybe a hall deflection. Who cares!

Perron makes it 3-0. Thank you lord!!!!

  33. OilFire says:

You guys see that play where Hemsky made a breakaway pass to Hall instead of punching someone’s face? What a Euro pussy…

  36. BlacqueJacque says:

Oilers have luongo’s number! Perron beats him from a terrible angle!

  37. Scotty LaDouche says:

    @RexLibris

I think that was Nurse, if you mean the Hall breakaway.

  38. RexLibris says:

  46. LMHF#1 says:

    Scotty LaDouche:

Good lord is Smyth slow right now.

  74. BlacqueJacque says:

Brad Hunt fulfills my prediction. He can go tour Murrica starting in Oklahoma now.

omg hall->Smyth and the rebound for Schultz.

  75. BlacqueJacque says:

    RexLibris,

I thought it was more on Hunt not being in position on the other post.

  76. OilClog says:

Dodododo turn the TV on.. 4-0 Oilers 12 minutes into the 1st.. John Garret Talking about how intense Eakins is.. Is this the gates to heaven?

  77. striatic says:

where are all these shots coming from?

i mean some of those goals were flukes, sure, but the shot differential must be due to some legit factors right?

  78. speeds says:

That was one rough sequence for Marincin on the 4-1 goal.

  79. VanOil says:

I figure the goal against is on Hunt. Smyty showed good hustle to get there but with that plow for a stick he uses he has to put that in. his days as a first liner are past.

  80. russ99 says:

I know it’s preseason but this is fricken awesome!

Marincin and Hunt weren’t to blame on that one, they were hung out to dry by all three members of the “goon line” sitting in front of the Oilers goal, not moving or covering anyone.

They’re not impressing with the puck either. Time to pull another 3rd line out of the hat, Eakins.

  81. RexLibris says:

    BlacqueJacque:
    RexLibris,

I thought it was more on Hunt not being in position on the other post.

Thanks, the names are a little tough to see, so all I caught was #80 turning his back on the scorer.

  82. Dead Cat Bounce says:

Lowetide: Whenever we have a chance.

    Better forget that Flames game.

  83. LMHF#1 says:

Nurse will be interesting if he can gain about 50 lbs and maintain his mobility. He’s the definition of lanky right now, but he can sure move himself around and get the puck in the corners.

  84. BlacqueJacque says:

    RexLibris,

That would be Marincin. Maybe I misjudged Hunt’s play. Hunt = 59.

  85. LMHF#1 says:

Hall and Hemsky are supersonic against this opposition.

Pitlick’s problem seems to be that he freezes when he gets the puck.

  86. OilClog says:

This Nurse kid.. hits, spins, pokes, dekes, making guys look silly.. Put him back in junior now before we start saying we “saw him good” too much..

  87. BlacqueJacque says:

On the one hand, Pitlick doesn’t know when to get off the ice. On the other, he’s got incredible stamina.

  88. SK Oiler Fan says:

Smyth is too slow to play top 6 on this team

  89. RexLibris says:

Very enthusiastic about Eakins’ aggressive puck retrieval scheme so far.

  90. LMHF#1 says:

    SK Oiler Fan:
Smyth is too slow to play top 12 on this team

    Fixed.

  91. speeds says:

    VanOil,

Marincin passed the puck to the Canucks behind the net, and then wasn’t strong taking the stick away from the man in front of/to the side of the net. Not his strongest sequence.

  92. OilClog says:

Who is Eberle? I heard he’s severely overrated.

  93. BlacqueJacque says:

No offense Sportsnet, I don’t want to hear from Eberle. I want to hear from Torts!

  94. striatic says:

    so .. Marincin or Grebeshkov?

  95. BlacqueJacque says:

    speeds:
    VanOil,

Marincin passed the puck to the Canucks behind the net, and then wasn’t strong taking the stick away from the man in front of/to the side of the net.Not his strongest sequence.

Thanks for the correction. I’d had Hunt at fault for that goal.

  96. BlacqueJacque says:

Bahahhaha Sn pacific guy rips on Principe. Classic.

“Ans this guy, Jordan Eberle, is grateful he doesn’t have to deal with gene Principe”.

  97. Scotty LaDouche says:

1000 pancakes and Nurse would be unstoppable.

  98. striatic says:

through the extremely choppy feed i’ve been watching, Nurse has looked very good.

Ference has looked excellent also, although the expectation was that he’d be good, i didn’t think he’d be quite this good. best defenseman on the team?

  99. Lowetide says:

14-8 shots, 4-1 Oilers after the first period. Hall looked a little banged up in the corner there, but other than that period one in Vancouver was pretty bloody beautiful.

I really like this team. Ryan Smyth not being 30 makes me sad.

  100. RexLibris says:

    striatic:
    so .. Marincin or Grebeshkov?

Grebeshkov, Belov or Larsen. Marincin needs more time, but he’s really going in the right direction. One more AHL season should do it, barring injury *knocks on wood*

  101. OilClog says:

Joenssu needs a double digit number, 6 just puts a bad taste in my mouth looking at it.

  102. Dead Cat Bounce says:

bookje: Given you focus on the Canucks, what do you think of Luongo as the #1 this year?

    Think he’ll be fine.

He has some things to prove.

  103. VanOil says:

    speeds,

Agreed. I just felt Hunt should have charged into the corner Marincin shoveled it to or tied up the guy he was covering in front. By the time Marincin got there it was already too late. Neither covered them selves in glory. Marincin had another week off the boards clearing attempt a few minute later that was not pretty, so I will buy he was the primary culprit.

  104. Lowetide says:

Dead Cat Bounce: Think he’ll be fine.

He has some things to prove.

Agreed on Luongo. He’s a quality starting goaltender.

  105. Dead Cat Bounce says:

    Shaw Cable I presume.

The NHL season always seems to surprise them.

    It’s on now.

  106. Lucinius says:

Marincin was ugly on that goal against; but with a goal and an assist.. he still had a good period. Also, he’s supposed to be up and down — he needs another year and we knew that before pre-season even started.

  107. Lucinius says:

    Really? Really!?

Kesler is the best comp you can think of?

    Kesler!?

  111. Romulus Apotheosis says:

    Oh man this is awesome!

Hemsky is a bad, bad man. I’ve so fucking elated he’s still an Oiler. Him and Hall are music.

Having those guys on the team change everything. I think the night and day from the WPG game is on those 2.

  112. RexLibris says:

    Lowetide,

56% in the dot as well. Not bad, although I’m not sure how much of that is Gordon over the rest of the group.

  113. VanOil says:

Good passing and using his body well. Need to see him live to see support and positioning though.

May sound odd but Hemsky and Ference seem to have some chemistry.

  124. RexLibris says:

    speeds:
What are everyone’s thoughts on Gordon’s play with offensive players, so far?

Strikes me as a guy who knows what others can do, even if he can’t himself, and plays accordingly. There is value in that.

  125. BlacqueJacque says:

    speeds,

Impressive work with Eberle. More daring and more skilled with the puck than the Horcster.

  126. Suntory Hanzo says:

assuming Larsen and Fedun are jockeying to replace Potter, we end up with Grebeshkov vs. Belov vs. Marincin, right?

i really, really hope Belov is good.

I think it goes Grebeshkov and Larsen to start and Belov to the KHL to get up to speed. Marincin, Davidson, Fedun and Klefbom told to go to OKC and teach that league how to play defense.

  128. RexLibris says:

    Romulus Apotheosis:
Nurse looks amazing. He needs to stew in the minors and stay out of range for awhile… but when he arrives, if his tools stay intact and grow… wow!

    ditto.

Yeah, I knew that was coming even as I was typing it.

  132. Suntory Hanzo says:

Ryan Witney having a good game. Looks like he bulked up over the offseason. Hopefully Oil fans can forgive him for slagging the team.

  133. Bulging Twine says:

    Arcobello = Andrew Ebbett?

  134. Romulus Apotheosis says:

    BlacqueJacque:
Kassian is dangerously close to being either the next Bertuzzi or the next Penner.

I think that is a bit high. I don’t think he has the hands.

More like somewhere between Eager and Bickell.

  135. Romulus Apotheosis says:

RexLibris: Belov to the KHL to get up to speed.

    That’s not going to work.

  136. RexLibris says:

Idea for NHL Competition committee: replace end boards with the substance used in NERF. Just a thought.

  137. 719 says:

    Gordon-Ebs look decent.

    Hall-Hemsky got some magic

    Was impressed with Yaks-Gagner yesterday.

I hope those are the pairs when the regular season starts. Dare I say, 3 scoring lines?

  138. striatic says:

    speeds,

    speeds:
What are everyone’s thoughts on Gordon’s play with offensive players, so far?

he has been excellent, could get a ton of points this year if paired with the right guys.

he seems a bit more patient than Horcoff, doesn’t try to do too much, which is good.

it seems like he’s doing less than Horcoff, who was all about chewing up the ice and sticks everywhere, but Gordon’s positioning is better or at least seems that way.

  139. 719 says:

Romulus Apotheosis: I think that is a bit high. I don’t think he has the hands.

More like somewhere between Eager and Bickell.

I would say Bickell is a good comp.

  140. RexLibris says:

Flames cut ten players from camp today, which raises the obvious question: who’s left?

  141. RexLibris says:

Romulus Apotheosis: That’s not going to work.

Sorry, meant AHL. I blame John Garrett.

  142. Lowetide says:

Marincin offers a nice range of, well, range. He could be Dale Rolfe with more Adam’s apple.

  143. BlacqueJacque says:

    Romulus Apotheosis,

Fair assessment. I think his ceiling may be a little higher, since he is a power forward and they take longer to peak, but I’m probably optimistic.

  144. SK Oiler Fan says:

marincin and nurse paired together could wingspan the width of the rink. amazing reach!

  145. BlacqueJacque says:

Is this the same Nurse I saw playing in Penticton?!?!?!

  146. VanOil says:

Perron does not appear to be dressed properly.

  147. Scotty LaDouche says:

Did Nurse just break up a Sedin 2 on 1?

    Swoon

  148. rich says:

That was a nice play by Nurse going down to block the pass. Kid has looked good tonight. Calm feet.

  149. OilFire says:

Man, I can’t wait to find out more about what movies the announcers have seen recently…

  150. RexLibris says:

    SK Oiler Fan:
marincin and nurse paired together could wingspan the width of the rink. amazing reach!

I thought that with Marincin and Gernat in OKC. Just touch sticks and call Red Rover Red Rover…

  151. OilClog says:

    Nurse… Wow

Okokok.. So Hemsky comes over the line, drops for Hall, Hall walks in and shoots.. Hall might score 60.

  152. SK Oiler Fan says:

Nurse has the same stance as CFP

  153. RexLibris says:

    BlacqueJacque:
Is this the same Nurse I saw playing in Penticton?!?!?!

You mean the one Flames fans called a bust? I believe so.

  154. Bulging Twine says:

Did you see Nurse get up after going spread eagle to break that play up? He just…..rose up. Didn’t even seem to push himself up, it was all one fluid motion. Go down, break play and up. How did he do that?!

  155. VanOil says:

    OilFire,

Don’t worry when these two get going the change the topic to Buffalo Wings

  156. OilFire says:

    Bulging Twine:
Did you see Nurse get up after going spread eagle to break that play up?He just…..rose up.Didn’t even seem to push himself up, it was all one fluid motion.Go down, break play and up.How did he do that?!

    Cock pushup.

  157. Suntory Hanzo says:

    RexLibris,

Well, at least it might make the Abbotsford heat a bit better to watch this season.

Hopefully they stick with Fridays games having 1$ hot dogs and 2$ Randy Jones’

  158. speeds says:

    striatic,

I posted earlier this summer musing about giving Gordon a couple of the “scoring wingers”, it could potentially help some match-up issues if he can effectively play with those kinds of players, maybe something like:

    Perron-Gordon-Hemsky
    Hall-RNH-Eberle
    ???-Gagner-Yakupov

  159. OilFire says:

Real nice PK by Ference there

  160. LMHF#1 says:

    I’ve seen Hall-Hemsky and Perron-Gordon PKing.

If we see that during the early regular season, Eakins is passing the early brilliance test.

  161. rich says:

Perron was pretty undisciplined on the PK – all over the place. Wonder if that’s part of the system but he wore himself out chasing the puck.

  162. BlacqueJacque says:

Hmm, Shinkaruk is going to make some teams (*cough*Calgary*cough*) pay for passing him up.

I just can’t get over the adjustment in Nurse’s game and his confidence. Thank God Gillis turned down that Cloutier trade.

  163. LMHF#1 says:

Why can’t anyone say Schultz properly?

If his name were Scholtz, he’d spell it that way.

  164. VanOil says:

Hemsky is playing Quarterback to Hall’s WR. Long may it continue.

  165. Lloyd B. says:

Thanks for all of this guys. I’m in the middle of nowhere with no feed. While this is great it is killing me not being able to watch. Finally a good effort from the sounds of it. Only 86 more to go.

  166. RexLibris says:

    Suntory Hanzo,

Yeah, they have some talent there now. The defense is slowly improving but I think Wotherspoon might be the only NHLer in their current group. Tough break for Sieloff (no pun intended).

  167. Bulging Twine says:

    Lowetide,

Dale Rolfe! haha I remember that guy. Much Adam’s apple!

  168. fuzzy muppet says:

I’m actually able to watch this game in HD on TV and boy does Nurse look Big and Smooth skating. He’ll take some time, but boy he looks like he’ll be a real nice player

  169. BlacqueJacque says:

    Lloyd B.,

I thought I saw an ATDHE link up before?

  170. RexLibris says:

    BlacqueJacque,

Seeing the same thing. Confidence is going to be everything with him, I think, and tonight it is going strong.

That pass he picked between his legs at the point, facing a forechecker, and calmly puts it on his stick and plays it back down low…beautiful.

  171. Lowetide says:

Nurse is having a great game. Honeslty, you wonder if they’ll keep him for another game. And if he gets another game?

  172. Bulging Twine says:

    OilFire:
Real nice PK by Ference there

Agree. Nice to see someone not afraid to give the cross check to a FW in front of the net. Closed real quickly on the puck carrier.

  173. steveb12344 says:

Lloyd B.: Thanks for all of this guys. I’m in the middle of nowhere with no feed. While this is great it is killing me not being able to watch. Finally a good effort from the sounds of it. Only 86 more to go.

    Try this… http://88.80.11.29/

    Should be good to go.

  174. RexLibris says:

Losing the faceoff advantage in the 2nd, 43%.

  175. BlacqueJacque says:

    RexLibris,

I know! So calm, no panic… And then he jumps into that rush on the next possession without giving anything up defensively. Pronger Junior is the wrong assessment of him. He’s not vicious enough. Almost… I don’t know. I can’t think of a comparable.

  176. speeds says:

Off topic, but doesn’t anyone know how long it takes the 2 zambonis to flood the ice?

I’m curious how long it would take them to do a dry scrape at the 10 minute mark of each period, and how much time that would add when factoring in the TV timeouts that are taken anyways each period, particularly if the NHL shortened each of the 1st and 3rd TV timeouts each period by 30 seconds and added that time to the 2nd TV timeout per period?

  177. Andropod says:

Well they played 20 and coasted 20. Can Dallas light a big enough fire for them to open the floodgates in P3, or let VCR beat them 5-4?

  178. RexLibris says:

    Lowetide,

Suspect we may be seeing some terrific Nurse/Monahan battles on the horizon.

  179. Jon K says:

Nurse has been very impressive. You can really see the allure as a scout if he can continue improving and add some weight to his frame.

  180. Lowetide says:

15:34 after two by Nurse, that’s second on the team tonight behind the Younger.

  181. RexLibris says:

    BlacqueJacque,

I think he is vicious enough. He’s just got the anger holstered tonight. Pronger was a nasty piece of work, but generally knew when to do it. I recall it wasn’t until the third series of ’06 that he took a penalty, or something like that.

  182. Suntory Hanzo says:

So, general thoughts on Perron Pääjärvi trade?

  183. Gret99zky says:

Oilers looked great in the first and gassed themselves in the second. I wonder how they will look in the third. Hopefully there is something left in the tank. They sure look tired out there.

  184. Andropod says:

I’m hoping they resist the temptation of putting Nurse in the NHL too soon. He could probably handle it but then if they got him to the Oil Kings would he be the reason they got back to the Memorial cup? Not sure what that trade would involve though.

  185. RexLibris says:

    Lowetide,

Bah, I used to do 3 hours in the back alley playing both forward and defense when I was his age. I also had to prop the snow shovel back up in the net after every goal. That’s tough!

    ;)

  186. Romulus Apotheosis says:

It’s like he pulled himself up into an airduct!

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fab89eIgswc

  187. RexLibris says:

    Suntory Hanzo,

Don’t like losing Paajarvi or the 2nd, but you have to give to get. Too soon to tell, in my opinion.

  188. Lucinius says:

    We have Brad Ference?

  189. striatic says:

Nurse is helped by the fact none of the LD additions have looked super solid. all flawed.

he isn’t so far ahead that you’d want to blow a contract year on him right now. plus going to the world jrs. would serve him well.

  190. BlacqueJacque says:

    RexLibris,

Maybe. I just don’t see him work his elbows and stick the way the rake did. But neither did Pronger jump into the rush like that. Maybe when he was younger, but I really don’t remember young CFP. But I really am struggling to think of a comparable. He’s so tall, so long, but so fast. When he rushes he doesn’t expose like schultzy does.

  191. RexLibris says:

    Lucinius,

Package deal. Buy one Ference get the 2nd free. Ference Bogo.

  192. Romulus Apotheosis says:

Sounds to me like this Total Hockey commercial on the NHL network stream is ripping off the piano melody from Floyd’s “Summer ’68″

    http://vimeo.com/66102331

  193. Lucinius says:

    RexLibris,

Sportsnet just can’t help but show how… well, bad they are. Neither one of them picked up on the fact his name is Andrew. Brad Ference retired from hockey a couple years ago, according to Google.

  194. Andropod says:

    RexLibris,

    RexLibris,

2nd one wore out 5 years back though.

  195. RexLibris says:

    BlacqueJacque,

Did Lowe use his stick as much in 1980 as he did in 1987? It may come, but this is also a different era than when Pronger was breaking in to the league.

  196. Lowetide says:

    RexLibris:
    Lowetide,

    ;)

My brother–not a genius otherwise–stole 2 of my Dad’s saw horses and then put two five gallon buckets in as goalies. It was awesome. Not a lot of room but if you could get the puck up….

  197. striatic says:

    Suntory Hanzo:
So, general thoughts on Perron Pääjärvi trade?

    good trade.

Pitlick has looked PRVesque in the past couple games. could possibly fill a similar role but time is running out.

  198. BlacqueJacque says:

    striatic,

I agree. At this point Nurse is worth maybe 3-6 points in the standings, optimistically speaking, over his closest competition. That assumes he doesn’t get beat up and tired out over 82 games against men.

I’m just floored that right now we have Klefbom, Marincin and Nurse on the left side and not one is older than Eberle.

PleasepleasepleasePLEASE get a soft cap in the next CBA. We have to resign these guys.
